The main aim of Klimacamp (eng. – climate camp) is to create a meeting place for youth where they can discuss climate challenges and sustainability.
The first Klimacamp was organized in august 2009 on Juvplateau near Norway’s highest mountain Galdhøpiggen. Youth from both Norway, Poland, Lithuania and Canada participated in Klimacamp 2009. Norway’s foremost climate researchers stayed in the area and spoke with the young participants giving them advice and inspiration. All of the participants were given a unique opportunity to participate in field activities, listen to lectures, and do their work-shops and discussions.
Klimacamp is cooperation between Klimapark project and a Norwegian youth organization “Nature and Youth in Nasjonalparkriket”.
