Project Manager of Klimapark2469 holds a lecture at Lillehammer University College

Espen Finstad who is the Project Manager for Klimapark2469, has visited Lillehammer University College today where he has hold a lecture about the project.

This is not the first occasion E.Finstad is invited to tell about Klimapark2469. This time an invitation came from Lillehammer University College and students from the Tourism Department with specialization in nature-based tourism.

Finstad told the students about Klimapark’s background – the multiple archaeological finds discovered in Jotunheimen National Park in Oppland County. He told them also about how climate changes speeded up the ice melting in the mountain areas which in its turn “helped” the scientists find the artifacts. The students got to know about different scientists involved in the project, both archaeologists, glaciologists, meteorologists and others.

The Project Manager shared the last news in the project with the students – building of an ice tunnel on the Juvfonna ice patch. This topic woke a great interest among students and Espen Finstad got several questions from the lecture participants about how tourism can influence the Juvfonna ice patch and also about financing of the project. Besides, Espen Finstad told the students about the future plans for the Klimapark2469 project.

Another important issue that was touched on in this lecture, was the potential visitors of the Klimapark2469. The topic was presented by Nataliya Holovan, trainee at the Norwegian Mountain Museum in Lom.
