Research within different fields of expertise is carried on in the area around Juvasshytta lodge.
Lake Juvvatnet is located at a height of 1836 above sea level. The process of collecting data and research on permafrost and weather is going on here.
Archeologists have discovered spectacular archeological finds which are up to 1700 years old.
Studying glaciers and slam from the lake, glaciologists and meteorologists can now reconstruct the development of climate of earlier times. In summer 2009 a big field activity and research took place in the area. Guided tours with researchers were organized every week in august 2009. 300 schoolchildren from seven communities around participated in an education program about climate on Juvplateau.
