At the end of July Oppland county authority received a delegation from Valmiera county in Latvia. The main purpose of the visit was to attend the folk music festival “Jørn Hilme-stemnet” in Valdres, but the delegates also had meetings with politicians and administration in Oppland county authority. Valmiera and Oppland have cooperated in a number of areas since the cooperation agreement was signed in 2001. Culture has been one of the most important fields, in particular exchange of young musicians.
